What would you like to know?
Q. What on Earth is Brightideas.today?
A. Brightideas.today is a new online news magazine. We are a little different to most news media, however, in that we are wholly focused on positive news. We all need to know what’s going on in the World, so we are not an alternative to other news media; rather we supplement it with the items that tend to be squeezed out by the big (and often rather depressing or divisive) stories.
There are still many good things going on around the UK and around the World, things that unite us rather than the things that divide us. It is these that we aim to highlight at Brightideas.today.
Subscribers also gain full access to features, big prize draws, e-book downloads, entertainment guides, puzzles and brainteasers, etc. as well as a selection of discount vouchers and offers, worth everything from a few pence to hundreds of pounds.
Brightideas365 is run by a private company (Bright Ideas 365 Ltd) but we are committed to returning all profits made back into the community. 50% of subscription fees go directly to the charities, schools, community projects, churches*, and other grass roots organisations selected by our subscribers. What’s more 100% of end of year profits, are also distributed amongst those groups. We do not issue dividends to shareholders.
Q. So, how can our community organisation get income from the Brightideas365 beneficiary programme?
A. Easy. If your cause’s name is entered into the beneficiary box by a subscriber when they sign up, then that subscription supports your organisation, it’s as simple as that!
Needless to say, we’d like organisations to let their supporters know about us via usual channels, and that if they choose to subscribe that they can be the beneficiary.
There is no need to register or ‘sign up’ to get income from Brightideas365.
Q. Does this cost us anything?
A. No, no charge is made to beneficiaries at any time.
Q. What do we have to do?
A. This is entirely up to you, there are no obligations for beneficiaries, other than making sure that Brightideas365 is not misrepresented or mis-sold. To get the most out of the programme, however, we ask beneficiaries to make their supporters aware of the free trial that is available (and suggest themselves as beneficiary if supporters choose to subscribe, of course).
To help we have a selection of templates which have a description of Brightideas365 for inclusion in emails, newsletters, Facebook pages, websites, etc. These can be downloaded here.
Q. Do we have to sign a contract?
A: No. Whilst participating implies that you have accepted our standard terms and conditions, there is no paperwork to sign, and you can leave the beneficiary programme at any time without penalty.
Q. What are the Terms and Conditions?
A. These are largely related to making sure Brightideas365 is fairly represented to subscribers and not mis-sold. They can be found here.
Q. How much do we get?
A. Commission rates are based on a percentage of income (after VAT and bank processing charges). Current rates can be found here.
Q. How often are we paid?
A. Monthly in arrears. Where the amount owed is less than £30, the balance will be carried over and paid when a total of £30 is reached (except by prior arrangement).
Q. How do we receive the money?
A. This will normally be paid by bacs (into your nominated account) or cheque.
Q. What happens if someone unsubscribes?
A. Then the commission paid for this subscriber ceases.
Q. How long does participation last?
A. It lasts as long as you remain a beneficiary of subscriber income.
Q. What happens if we choose to leave the programme?
A. You can leave the beneficiary programme any time you wish by simply not promoting Brightideas365. Commission will however continue to be paid on existing subscriptions that named your organisation as beneficiary, unless the standard terms and conditions have been breached, or the subscriber changes their named beneficiary.
Q. How do we contact Brightideas.today?
A. If you can’t find the answer to your question here, you can contact us using our contact form.
* In this instance the term ‘churches’ refers to all faith based organisations.
